Know Before You Go
Your Guide to North Miami
A local's gateway to nature and calm waters
About the Area
North Miami offers a quieter, more nature-focused boating experience compared to the tourist-heavy areas to the south. Bordered by Oleta River State Park — Florida's largest urban park — and the northern reaches of Biscayne Bay, this area appeals to guests seeking a more authentic local experience.
On the Water
The waterfront here is residential and peaceful. Mangrove-lined channels, quiet coves, and residential canals replace the crowds and high-rises of downtown. Oleta River State Park's waterfront provides a rare natural setting within the metro area.
Consistently calm. The northern bay is wide and shallow near shore, deepening toward the center. Protected from ocean swells by the barrier islands. Excellent conditions for first-time boaters and families with children.
Haulover Sandbar is 15 minutes south. Oleta River mangrove trails are accessible by boat. The Intracoastal connects north to Aventura and Fort Lauderdale.
Getting There
North Miami is accessible from I-95 via NE 163rd Street or Biscayne Boulevard. Parking at marinas is generally available and less expensive than central Miami. Rideshare from downtown takes 20-25 minutes.

Insider Tips
- Oleta River's mangrove channels are a hidden gem — ask your captain to cruise through on the way to the sandbar for a unique detour.
- North Miami departures put you on the water faster with less marina congestion — more time on the water, less time at the dock.
- The Keystone Islands, just offshore, have calm anchorages that feel completely secluded despite being minutes from the city.
Sport boats are ideal from North Miami — they navigate the shallower waters and mangrove channels with ease. Mid-size yachts work for groups heading to the sandbar or downtown.

Booze Cruise in North Miami — FAQ
Where do boats depart from in North Miami?
Depart from North Miami's waterfront and enjoy a quieter, more nature-focused boating experience. Oleta River State Park, the Haulover Sandbar, and the open Biscayne Bay are all within easy reach.
What is the best time of year for a boat charter in North Miami?
Year-round. Best for nature lovers who want calm waters and fewer crowds.
What is included in a booze cruise?
Captain, fuel, and crew are included. We do not provide alcohol — guests bring their own. Coolers and ice chests are available on most vessels. All guests consuming alcohol must be 21 or older per Florida law. BYOB is our policy — bring whatever beverages you want (all guests consuming alcohol must be 21+). Your captain takes you to the best spots for swimming and socializing, often the Haulover Sandbar where food boats come to you. Bluetooth speakers, coolers, and a great attitude are standard on every vessel. The captain can limit alcohol service if safety becomes a concern.
How long should I book a booze cruise for?
Most booze cruises book 4-6 hours — long enough to cruise to a sandbar, anchor, swim, and enjoy the full day without rushing. Bring a cooler full of your favorite drinks and plenty of ice.
Is alcohol provided on the booze cruise?
No — we are BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverages). We do not sell or provide alcohol. Guests bring their own drinks, and coolers are available on most vessels. This keeps your costs down and lets you enjoy exactly what you want. All guests consuming alcohol must be 21 years of age or older per Florida law.
Can the captain stop us from drinking?
Yes. The captain has final authority on all safety matters aboard the vessel. If intoxication-related behavior poses a safety risk, the captain may limit alcohol consumption or terminate the charter early and return to the marina. No refund is issued in this case. Safety is always the top priority.
What should I bring on a booze cruise?
Bring a cooler with your favorite drinks and plenty of ice, snacks or food (or arrange catering through us), sunscreen, towels, and a swimsuit. A waterproof phone case is a great idea. Glass containers are prohibited on sport boats (26'-37') for safety — use cans or plastic bottles instead.
